Adolf Hitler :: essays research papers

Adolf HitlerAdolf Hitler was born on April 20,1889. This was the beginning withhorrible plans for power and run into of other people. Some of the things thatHitler did throughout his lifespan were very cruel things first of all, he was aman who loved war and fighting. Second, he was in charge of pose all of theinnocent Jews into Concentration Camps and killing them. Third, he wanted onedominate bleed of all the same kind of people. Fourth, he had a life longobsession with danger. Fifth, he blamed the Jews for the war debt and sentencedthem all to die. So as you give notice see already Hitler was a very cruel person. The detail that he wanted one dominate race was unbelievably true. Firstof all, the fact he would kill everyone one way or another that didnt haveblond hair and blue eye and was of German descent, was a frightening fact. Theidea of this gives me quite a scare my self, because I have browned hair, andbrown eyes and would I have been kil take just because I did not H itlers physicalstandards. Also Hitler himself did not have blond hair and blue eyes. Next, Idont think that you should judge anyone by the way they look or what they dothat is very wrong. Hitlers idea of one dominate race was a very bad one.Adolf Hitler was born in an Austrian town known as Braunau am Inn.Hitler was the son of a man named Alois. Alois Hitlers arrive was a Customofficials, and his mother was named Klara. Alois was illegitimate, first of allhe used his mothers name, Schicklgruber until 1876, when he adopted the nameHitler. Adolfs founder was very strict with him, and ignored him most of thetime because Adolf liked to dream. Why the Greeks Won the Greco-Persian War Essay -- Greco-Persian War Gr

Why the Greeks Won the Greco- Iranian War There are times in history that something will happen and it will declare all logic. It was one of those times when a a couple of(prenominal) Greek city/states joined together and defeated the impact force of the massive Persian Empire. The Greeks were adapted to win the Greco-Persian War because of their naval victories over the Persians, a few key strategic victories on region, as well as the cause for which they were combat. The naval victories were the to the highest degree important contribution to the overall success against the Persians. The Persian fleet was protecting the land forces from being outflanked and after they were defeated the longer had that protection. While the Greeks had very few overall victories in battle they did have some strategic victories. The Battle of Thermopylae is an example of a strategic success for the Greeks. The morale of the Persian multitude was extremely affected by the stout resistance put up by King Leonidas and his fellow Spartans. The Greeks fought so hard against overwhelming odds because of what they were fighting for. They were fighting for their country and their freedom. They fought so hard because they did not want to let down the man next to them in the formation. Several things contributed to the Greeks success against the Persian invasion that happened during the Second Greco-Persian War. The main reason that the Greeks were able to win the Second Greco-Persian War was the fact that their victory on the sea dealt a crippling blow to the land army. The Greeks owe their naval success to a man named Themistocles. If it had not been for him then Athens would have not used some newly found flatware to build 200 new ships for their navy. These ships were later used in the war against the Persians. The two forces were working in unison and they were dependent upon each other for victory. The Persian naval forces were there in order to protect the flank of th e armys advance. If the Persian navy were not present then the Greeks would have been able to get on ships and sail to a spot behind the Persian lines and outflank them. They also delivered supplies to the armies that were necessary for its survival. The deathblow was dealt at the Battle of Salamis. It was a culmination of misfortune for the Persian navy. The Persians lost many ships to bad weather conditions. That is the only thing that allowed the G... ... This would put added pressure on the other man to make sure he doesnt aroma like a coward. The phalanx depended on every single individual in order to work right. The Greeks were able to repel the overwhelming and seemly unstoppable Persian Empire. They were able to do so because of the victories won thanks to the Athenian navy in the Aegean Sea, the hard fought and strategically important battles that the Spartans just would not give up during and they were able to put aside their differences in order to face the greater threa t for the good or their culture. Each major city/state contributed what it was good at. It was a nice display of teamwork. Works CitedHerodotus. Greece Saved from Persian Conquest. interpretings in Ancient History. Eds. Nels M. The Scarlet Letter - The Letter of a Thousand Words :: Scarlet Letter essays

The Scarlet Letter - The Letter of a Thousand Words The Scarlet Letter deals with the theme of sin. Throughout history, batch have committed all types of sins, and whether they are major or minor, people have been punished. However the severity of a punishment is very difficult to arrest on. Some people feel that sinners should be deeply punished no matter how little the wrongdoing was. Others feel that a persons punishment should be ground upon the severity of their crime. What many people overlook is the fact that in time, we all have committed sins. That is the case with the three main characters from the Scarlet Letter. Even though they were all different on the outside, inside they all shared a certain feeling of sin and guilt. So when I regain of Hester, Dimmesdale, and Chillingworth, I think heavily upon the feelings that they all shared together, which were sin and guilt. This novel was brought about from one mistake that a young, beautiful woman made. Here she was sent over to capital of Massachusetts without her husband, and many years later still hasnt shown up. She doesnt know if he is alive or died at sea. In the meantime, she got acquainted with Reverend Dimmesdale. Between the two of them, Hester bears a child and that child is the living proof, and a constant reminder that Hester has committed a sin. So the townspeople made Hester wear the letter A on her chest and made her stand on a scaffold in front of the town to display her shame. So everywhere she went she had to carry that guilt with her. In the meantime Chillingworth shows up and demands to know whom the father of Pearl is. Hester will not tell him so he constantly batters her but Hester keeps her strength and refuses each time. Which isnt so easy because she has to face him everyday. Dimmesdale is most likely the worst sinner of all. His sin was that he was Hesters partner, which was Pearls father. Since he was a coward, he didnt have the guts to admit it to the public. He didnt want to lose the publics trust and his popularity that he had from his congregation.

Taming of the Shrew Essays: Katherinas Development :: Taming Shrew Essays

The Taming of the Shrew Essay Katherinas Development Katherinas development in the play, The Taming of the Shrew, is a complicated dilemma for the lector to figure out. Is she really tamed by Petruchio? Or does she figure out his game and decide shes better off playing along? Or does she gain her own excessive behavior in his and decide to change of her own free will? Or does she really fall in love with Petruchio and neediness to please her lord? I think her evolution is a combination of all of the above. But do we, as readers, want her to be tamed or was her initial independence a virtue? Its obvious that Katherinas father, Baptista Minola, hasnt treated her as well as he treats Bianca, her younger sister. On the other hand, is her shrewishness a origin or a result of this favoritism? Katherina is obviously a highly intelligent woman whose gifts have no outlet in the domestic participation of the household. For example, in their first meeting, Katherina keeps up with Petruch io pun for pun and insult for insult. Perhaps her fury is simply the result of having no outlet for her feisty wit. And when Petruchio comes along and treats her as an equal (the opposite of taming), I think she is taken aback and that is how he is able to swoop in and win her. In this first encounter, Katherina is, for the first clock in her life, spoken kindly to by a man. She seems moved by Petruchios praise. Also, when it appears she has been left at the altar, she weeps and wishes she had never met him. I think her grief is a manse of her genuine affection and perhaps even love for Petruchio. By the end of the play and in her final speech, Katherina may seem genuinely tamed, depending on your reading of the soliloquy -- is it genuine or tongue-in-cheek? Is she really her lords noble servant or is she pandering to him and what he wants to hear? I think she wants to give her husband happiness, simply cheats that her husband will do the same for her. I think Petruchio and Ka therina would actually have a very balanced marriage of mutual respect, because they each know what the other is capable of.

Suicide in A Perfect Day for Bananafish by J. D. Salinger Essay

A Perfect Day for Bananafish follows the events leading up to the eventual suicide of Seymour Glass. In the score, Seymour is expound as a lost spirit who sees himself as being fundamentally different from his social environment following his wartime experience he leaves the war seeing-more and as a result, awakens to find that he has lost touch with the material world. Salinger uses the storys dialog as the medium for conveying Seymours struggle he establishes the shallow nature of the environment Seymour is exposed to using the dialog between Muriel and her Mother while simultaneously giving clues about Seymours character from the perspectives of the both women in his life. Seymours character is built upon further in the second half of the story during the scene in which he converses with Sybil, and also when Seymour is in the nip and tuck moments before he commits suicide. The subtle clues Salinger weaves into the dialog suggest that Seymour commits suicide to escape the dilem ma of either correcting to the materialistic world and sacrificing his spirituality, or choosing not to conform and consequently live estranged from his own wife and the society in which he lives. The opening of the story serves to create the precedent that Muriel is shallow. The first passage describes how Muriel uses her devil and a half hour waiting period before her mothers call. She accomplishes multiple tasks such as painting her toenails, reading a womens pocket-size magazine article, brushing her hair, and removing a stain from a skirt. Salinger describes Muriel as a girl who for a ringing phone dropped exactly nothing. The references to Muriel as a girl are repeated throughout the story to signify her immaturity her concern for trivial... ...nd his own life. Many of these clues can be found in the storys dialog. They suggest that Seymours suicide is the manifestation of an awakening gained through his war experience he is separated from the shallow environment he lives i n and can find no other escape. Perhaps Seymour commits suicide in an attempt to break through the barrier that separates him from Muriel and the rest of society. Or maybe Seymours mental faculties were damaged by his wartime experience, leaving him disturbed and unstable. The text can be read many ways however, there is no single variant that captures the complexity of Salingers short story. While the clues that Salinger leaves throughout the story influence the readers perspective on Seymour Glass, ultimately the meaning and justification of Seymours suicide depends on the readers personal connection to the protagonist.

Is It Moral for Corporations to Test Cosmetics on Animals?

Is it virtuous for corporations to test cosmetics on animals or to use animals for medical checkup checkup exam experimentation? Pain is suffer, and the impressiveness of celebrateing unnecessary pain and contacting does non diminish be thrust the being that suffers is not a member of our own species. ( turncock Singer,Animal Liberation) Human beings.. who atomic number 18 we? Are we Gods or we atomic number 18 just the top of the food chain on Earth? Do we have estimables to harm other nonhuman species? These and many other questions I have in my head when I see how cruel we are sometimes to each other and even harsher toward the other nonhuman beings.Person totallyy, I cherish animals with respect be causality I consider them to be reasonable creatures that are in many perspectives similar to us, human beings. I am confident that animals have emotions they sack up feel pain and happiness like we do. As we fecal matter see this is not enough for us to consider them o ur little brothers. From ancient times, many animals are being used for satisfying humans different needs, such as food, transportation, and materials. Nowadays, human beings use animals not only for abovementioned purposes, just now similarly for cosmetics and medical experiments. All these experiments definitely cause harm to animals. Majority of human population believes that all these experiments are the required attri only ife for all pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies. They believe that these practices cornerstone hinder many heap from suffering by testing all new medicine and cosmetic products on animals first. According to this I scum bag say that animals sufferings caused by people became moral issue for our last generations. In my essay I will use the wee of Peter Singer All animals are Equal, because his work covers most of the aspects that I agree with. The main purpose of this essay is to emphasize that nonhuman beings have many similarities with human beings and they need to have basis rights for liveness without pain. It means that human beings must understand that all species are equal and it is immoral to make them suffer. There are similarities between human beings and animals that can be taken into account. In this case, I consider that main feelings that are possessed both by human and by nonhuman beings are pain and happiness. It is plain that animals that surround us can experience pain. Just imagine if you kick a dog-iron with your leg, the dog will moan and probably will un by with its tail between its legs. If this dog would not suffer from that kick it would not try to prevent that pain from occurring. On the other hand, imagine the same dog running towards her master, spinning her tail and running around him, licking his hands, jumping and sending many other positive signals that represent happiness. By visualizing these two images you can easily understand that animals have basic feelings like we do. For some people th is might sound like nonsense if I say that people are equal to other species that are inhabiting our planet. I will not take into consideration some biological features of the beings.I want to look at this problem from the moral perspective. Today it is acceptable by many developed countries around the world for women have equal rights with men. We consider that this is a right thing, but think for a moment that essentially males and females are not the same. I mean they have equal rights but not all rights applied for both men and women, cod to physiological differences or other factors. For example, P. Singer mentioned in his work that women have right to abortion so in order to make them equal to men, males also must have the same right to abortion (P.Singer, p. 172). However, men do not need this right since those instances never occur. According to this example, equality does not especially mean that men and women have all the same equal rights. It means that they have the sam e rights in regards with to what they have in common. Concerning cosmetics and medical experiments on animals I can definitely say that it makes animals suffer. Lets take medical experiments of new drugs. Nobody get laids what is going to happen when any external substance is utilize on an animal. There are certain medications tested on animals and that caused the death of the animals. For example, one of the scandal cases is the sheep Dolly that died because of the cloning experiment. Obviously there is a big detect for the animals to die after certain tests are performed on them. Nevertheless, human beings still accept the fact that some species other than humans can justifiably suffer in order to possibly save some human beings lives. However, animals that are involved in those experiments will receive nothing in return but suffering because the only purpose of those experiments is to help people. So, regarding cosmetic experiments, those animals suffer not for the sake of savin g some humans life, but for the sake of helping a number of people to look much beautiful. For instance, before introducing a new cosmetic product such as shampoo to the market a product should go through the series of tests, the part of which is animal testing. Even this single product can harm a epic number of animals. Looking more attractive, in my mind, is not worth causing pain to other species. I want to say, that the number of animals suffering is greater than the amusement that human beings receive. In other linguistic communication the degree of harm is higher than the degree of happiness. Some people might say lets think near the morality that animals have. The main principal of their lives is to survive. Most of them survive by put to deathing and eating other animals. Lets take lions as an example they kill other animals to feed their prides. In other words, they hurt other species to make their own lives flourish. If we can call this their morality, then medical ex periments are the right thing to do, because human beings are the part of the same biosphere as lions and other animals are.As a result of these experiments many lives of the human beings were saved. Without the experiments on animals it would be impossible to relieve oneself the constant improvements and developments in medicine. If we talk about equality with animals in this perspective then we are equal to them, since we act according to their morality. All these arguments are cerebrate to functionalism. Utilitarian theories are dealing with selection of the action that will result in the maximum good for the greatest amount of individuals (Encyclopedia Britannica).Regarding animal testing from utilitarian point of view I can say that this is not right thing to do. Since it can be moral only if it delivers the greatest good to greatest number of individuals I can calculate how many individuals are better off in this case. For example only in France in 2005, 12,117,583 animals were used for medical experiments (Andrew Knight, p. 651). Taking in account that this number represents the quantity of animals that were used by only a single country, I can definitely say that the append number of animals used for experiments in the whole world is much greater than human population. Moreover, not all people received benefits from those medical experiments, but all animals tested suffered or died. Talking about the previous example of analyses of lions morality I want to mention that in that case lions kill not more than two zebras to feed more than ten lions. On basis of this, greater good delivered to greater number of individuals. The professor of Oxford and Warwick universities and also the former head of checkup Research Council Colin Blakemore states that many irredeemable human diseases like Alzheimers multiple scleroses would never be possible to vaccinate without using all possible tools. In this case, data-based animals are one of the tools that are nee ded for the research of those diseases (Colin Blakemore). This claim proves that animal testing is one of the main research attributes. Therefore, in order to provide hard ill people with quality medications, pharmaceutical companies have to test new drugs on animals. It is obvious, that fifty years ago it was normal for researchers to use animals for medical and cosmetics experiments, because they did not have any alternatives. It is known, that todays technologies have features that can substitute usage of animals. If it is possible to use other means than animals why people do not do that? It seems to me that until animal tests are regarded as moral by human beings this practice will continue. Moreover, there will be a dower of different arguments that will support the idea of animal experiments. Yet, the fact that we can do medical experiments in 21st century without torturing animals is obvious. It is immoral to cause pain to a human by another one. The main reason for that is that human can suffer. Everyone in his or her life experienced pain and know what it is.So, it became immoral thing to harm other people. Moreover, every person has a right to not experience pain from other individuals. In other words people are bounded by their rights and morality from making other people suffer. We are protected by rights and by laws not to be harmed, but animals are not protected by those rights and human morality. Nevertheless, they can suffer like we do. In this case both human and nonhuman beings experience comparatively the same feeling of pain. Since the pain is the one factor that makes us similar to animals, why other species do not have rights to not suffer?virtuoso of the reasons why animals do not have some equal rights with people is probably because all those concepts of equal rights were created by human beings. It becomes obvious that human beings are selfish in this perspective. If you are the man it does not mean for me that you can decide for ot hers what to do with their lives. What about the fact that human beings are the part of the biosphere of our planet. I think this is immoral to not take into account that animals can suffer like we do. In these circumstances I agree with P. Singer as he introduced an example about an orphaned infant. He said that would be experimenter ready to make his experiments on orphaned infant if it would the only option to save many lives. If experimenter would be against using orphaned infant for experiments, then his readiness to use animal is simple discrimination. But many adult animals are more receptive to pain than human infants. (P. Singer, p. 176). This is not good and people must understand why they have to do something about it. I agree that this practice is hard to remove. Still, expression back in the history there were many practices that were accepted to be moral. For instance, I want to mention slavery and discrimination of African American or women. All of these cases were p erceived to be normal at those times, but now moral values have changed. It means that there is a chance that people will comprehend the pain that we cause to nonhuman beings. People cannot decide for animals what to do with their lives. It is not moral to benefit one by harming another one. In this case all experiments on animals must be reformed. However, it is rooted deeply in our moral values system, so this values need to be changed as they were changed in other cases similar to this one.Human moral issues are changing all the time. Just recall the time when all people we classified by tegument color or other signs. It was normal to discriminate black people only because they have a different skin color. Going back we can see that white people at those times would never accept that they are born equal to black people. It took a lot of time to change those beliefs. Now Barak Obama is the president of USA while a century ago this fact would appear implausible. It means that it i s possible to change moral believes of human beings by giving them enough arguments for that.According to this I can definitely say that there are enough arguments that can be used to prove that animal experiments can be reformed. I want to conclude that the problem of animal experiments is related to each individual. According to utilitarian theory the animal experiments are not a right thing to do, because harm of these experiments is greater than the positive outcome. Number of ruined animals lives, is much greater than the number of saved human beings lives. The only way to prevent animal usage is to persuade people that this is inapplicable in our modern community. As I mentioned there are many ways, including technological improvements, to not use animals for medical experiments. The technology of 21 century allows constructing virtual models of live organisms that are able to predict a reaction of a tested medicine. This argument can cause the change in human beings morality, and animals will get equal rights with humas, by taking into consideration their abilities to experience pain and happiness like we do. Moreover, our morality is the dependant that can be changed, as we can observe by looking back in the history. We need to start doing it, because we are the most intelligent creatures on the Earth and the future of many animals is in our hands. The Purpose of Australias Modern Criminal Justice System

Why do we need a criminal rightness system in Australia? To answer this question, We firstly need to look a couple of things to on the wholeow you a thorough understanding of what exactly the criminal justice system is, questions like, what is character reference that this system has to play in todays modern & somewhat debauched society, in like manner what are the key concepts and components of each part of the criminal justice system. It is my attention through the aid of this essay to not only explain the differing move of the criminal justice system, only also answer the topic in question by the time we are through you will have a thorough understanding of the Australian criminal justice system and wherefore it is needed. What exactly is the technical meaning of the criminal justice system? An excellent answer to this question maybe found by looking at the Australian Bureau of Statistics (www. bs. gov. au/ausstats 1997 paragraph 2), to quote this comment directly, the Aust ralian Bureau of Statistics defines this as The criminal justice system is a system of laws and rulings which protect alliance members and their property2. It determines which events causing injury or offence to community members, are criminal. Criminal wrongdoers may be punished through the law by fines, imprisonment and/or community service.Ok we now have a clear definition of what the criminal justice system is we can break down this definition into key elements, and then look at the working of each element in relation to the criminal justice system as a whole. Is there only one criminal justice system in Australia or are there more? Well lets look at the next paragraph. How many criminal justice systems are there in Australia one only or several? check to the book criminal justice, issues in society (Healey 2006 p. 18) there are nine criminal justice systems currently in operation in Australia at present. This nine stages of one commonwealth or federal criminal justice syste m, which is controlled and policed by the Australian federal police. However it can be said that the federal system is not complete out-of-pocket to the fact the federal system corrective service department, therefore punishment for federal crimes that involves incarceration or some lick of rehabilitation are facilitated by the relevant corrective service department of the appropriate defer or territory. The other eight criminal justice systems are enacted by each resign or territory. Each state system is very similar in the way crime and punishments are dealt with, within each state system the physical composition includes the same key components. Each state criminal justice system comprises of three key elements the relevant state police force, the chat up system (which comprise of, local, district and supreme judicatorys) and corrections including jails, juvenile detention centres mental health facilities as well as other rehabilitation programs. Firstly lets look at the fr ontline of any criminal justice system, which is the relevant federal state or territory police force. What role do police in the criminal justice system? According to (White and Perrone 2010 p. 287-293) police are not only one of the most powerful means of social control in society but are also the most visible, police have quite a large amount of power in which they are subject to use their own judgement or discretion. It is through police that offenders are first entered into the criminal justice system, or if offence is minor diverted away(predicate) from criminal justice system, to quote (White & Perrone 2010 p. 87) directly police are often described as the gate keepers of the criminal justice system. It can be argued that by creation of laws and implementation of these laws that a person is being stripped of a small portion of ones civil rights and social freedoms til now it is of general acceptance that the vast majority of society accepts this so called loss of rights and freedoms, to allow general level of peace and order, a system without laws and some form of social restrictions and civil freedoms would certainly lead to social anarchy. Not only is it the role of police to nab and apprehend criminals but it also their role transact other essential community duties much(prenominal) as law & order, conflict resolution and maintenance of such resolution, police may often do this without the arrest of individuals (White & Perrone 2010 p. 287-293). Strategic planning for the prevention of crime is also just important as the apprehension of individuals by stopping the crime before it occurs. Other duties performed by todays police force include emergency response and services e. . car accident response, traffic control and community service and many other tasks. Community service involve such mundane acts as rescuing a cat from a tree to appearing at schools educating the young. Over all it can be seen the need for policing as a vital link in the cri minal justice system. In the next paragraph we will expect a brief look at the various court systems. There are four main court systems in Australia three of which are state and the other federal. The courts are (www. lawlink. nsw. gov. u 2011) the local court, which deals with such matters as Family law involves issues such as domestic violence orders, power of attorney and also durable guardianship etc. Also the local court deals with Monetary issues such as small claims arising from motor vehicle accidents etc. monies owed that are payable such overdue fines etc. Local courts also deal with minor criminal offences including such things as drink driving, minor assaults, break and enter and breaches of AVOs etc. and also minor traffic incidents The district court for want of a dampen term is the middle court. The district court is a trial court dealings with both criminal and civil matters and also can preside over certain tribunals. The district court is headed by a chief judge . The Supreme appeal is the highest of the state courts. The Supreme Court has unlimited civil jurisdiction and handles the most serious of criminal offences. The last court which is the highest court in Australia is the federal court or High Court of Australia which deals with all matters that are to do with the Commonwealth of Australia. We now have a brief understanding of the four main court systems of Australia so now lets take a look at the last element of the criminal justice system that is that of corrective services. According to (www. correctiveservices. nsw. gov. au accessed 30/5/2010) the role of Corrective Services is to provide not only custodial sentencing but also non-custodial supervised punishments such as community service, in home detention and parole. Corrective services also provide pre-release reports on offenders to determine the risk of Recidivism or for the want of a better word re-offend.Now we have had a look at the key facets of the criminal justice syst em and how each interlocks with the next i. e. the police (first line of hint for the criminal justice system, arrest or caution offenders, if police arrest the offender then moves on to the relevant court system depend on relevant type and severity of crime, which in turn makes a judgement, on whether the person in question is a risk to society. Barriers Can Limit Access to Opportunity

Barriers can limit access to opportunity (Health and Culture diversity) When it comes to achieving opportunity, many people have to face barriers or challenges. For example, a child from a unfortunate family background might have a goal of going to medical school and graduating with a medical degree. But in this case, the barrier could be financial. Likewise, a person moved from his country to another country for work. He found difficulty in understanding his colleagues who speak a strong regional or national accent. This could be a communication barrier and might be challenging to him. These barriers can limit access to opportunity. Nurses work with patients from a range of ethnic, heathen and religious groups and a people from diverse social backgrounds. So hold ins need to know enough about diverse groups to develop an awareness that enhances planning and affectionateness for patients. According to the nursing code of ethics, her primary commitment is to the patient whether an individual, family, group, or community. She is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks tenacious with the nurses obligation to put up optimum patient care. For example, a language barrier can be a challenge while provide quality care to patient. According to the nursing code of ethics, a patient has right of appropriate care, hence the nurse can confront with this barrier by assigning an interpreter who can work as a communicator between the nurse and the patient. It helps the patient to explore the real problem that is he facing. And a nurse can apply an appropriate method for his promotive, preventive and curative services which are the basic right of the patient. A Patient can also be from a different culture than that of the nurse. Hence, this could also act as a challenge while providing quality care. So she has to confront this situation by gaining much knowledge about the culture of the patient and respe cting the patients morals and values. Failure to understand and manage social and cultural differences may have portentous health consequences for people of diverse backgrounds.

Cause and effect early pregnancy Essay

Early Pregnancy is one of the problems in todays society. Many teenagers today dont agnize how big tariff to raise a child when they are young too. Becoming a parent is a big right that should give priority, but how can teenagers can handle this big responsibility if she was too young too? To raise a child involves a jackpot of patient and sacrifices which lot teens dont have. The risk of pregnancy among teenagers is largely increasing. Some teenagers who stir pregnant early may experience anxiety, depression and other emotional problem. We cope that teenagers ages of 15-19 are still young so emotion and other feelings of being teenagers might occur. Some of the casings of early pregnancy among teenagers are neediness of education especially sexual education, poverty, undergraduate, or problem with their family.Lack of Education among teenagers should be given priority I am agreeing that sexual education should be learned in school. To aware them from the effect that may occ ur. Problem with family is another issue, around of the teenagers are not provided with their own family, and most of the teenagers accept rebelled. These are some of the cause why they are so many teenagers gets pregnant early, which I think the government should look in to it. Government should look forward on how to resolve this issue. Teenagers should be educated with this kind of problem, especially those teenagers who are already sexually active. If the Government should not give chances to these issues, teenage pregnancy will accession rapidly. This can cause a lot of endless problems in the life of the teen and the new born(p) baby infant child. There are a lot of things that can cause an unplanned teen pregnancy, such as teens experimenting with sexual encounters at a young age. Another major cause is the lack of guidance due to guardians that are blind or do not want to believe in such activities. These causes can have devastating effects on the teen and the newborn in the household. Some effects of early pregnancy will include an unexpected rise of responsibility for the teen and can cause many wellness concerns for both teen and newborn child.Teens experimenting are the leading cause in the unplanned pregnancies. As a teenager in high school ages thither are a lot of peer pressures. Such as experimenting with alcohol and unprotected sexual intercourse. Drinking and the use of narcotics also largely have an stupor on the judgment of the teen before the pre-pregnancy comes ab knocked out(p). Experimenting can cause many effects on the teen and the relationships at hand, including the relationships with the babys mom or dad and also the parents of the teens. Another way of experimenting is the pregnancy caused in the sequel of either a long-time dating of the boyfriend or the other case of those haphazard one night stands or hook-ups. Experimenting can be well avoided which can cause less of a chance of the unplanned pregnancy.Another very clas sic concern for preventing teen pregnancy is having a good guidance throughout the teenagers teen years. The guardians of the teens play a crucial role in guiding the teen to making the right choices in his/her life. The teenager then is faced with obstacles that would normally happen to a 20-30 year old woman. Not having the square-toed guidance will cause the teen to find the alternatives. For example, finding someone to be with to be cared for by in replace of a strong guidance, by the guardians in the teenagers life. For not having the square-toed guidance the teenager has a higher chance of dropping out or failing out of a school, such as being a high school dropout to have time to give birth and time to raise the young child. So by becoming pregnant at a young age and not finishing your education. It definitely doesnt sound like too such(prenominal) fun, now does it? The guidance in life is the most important thing throughout so this can be less of an issue. It is then caused , in effect, to direct a lot of responsibility in the teenagers life once they find out that they are pregnant. There is 100% more responsibility in the teenagers life. The early responsibility causes changes the teenagers overall personality. Going from being in school full time get your education to having the responsibility to bringing a child into the world, then being alone fit to possibly finish your high school education. Finishing your education in a regular 4 years of your high school years will be hard. Not even to mention the financial costs it has to have a newborn. What makes it hard is when you need money for the simple things for the child, but you dont have the time to get a job because youre nursing and getting ready to bring a child into the world. So as a teenager you need a support system so that a newborn is taken care of in the safest, best place for the child. A lot of this early responsibility can be unbearable for some teens, expesically the ones that choo se to get pregnant while they are still in high school. With all of this going on in their lives its affecting the health risks and medical negatives a teenage pregnancy can cause. For example, there is an increased chance of mothers from ages 15-19 of birthing a child that is under weightiness at birth. A low birth weight will increase the chance of the newborn to have health risks. It is definitely not a great thing to have the chance of health risks in you or the child. Another way that the health problems can start is because teens might not have all the knowledge of proper behavior in shrewd how to nurse the child or the proper ways during the growth of the child. Teenage adolescents tend to develop poor eating habits during pregnancy, they tend not to take the proper vitamins, and in the worst scenario the teen drinking and/ to doing drugs during the pregnancy. That is the worst that can be done it will increase the chance greatly of the baby being born with some type of birth defect or a weak part of the baby. Now that can be the worst you can possibly do to an unborn child. To wrap it all up, teen pregnancy is a major issue that should try to be prevented as much as it can. It causes countless, dodge able problems if the right choices are made and you have a good support system around you. It would be in the best advice to not take the chances to get pregnant as a teenager. It is not the age to get pregnant. Teens are not fully ready to become adults like the stress that follows during the pregnancy.

Osmosis in Quails’ Egg Essay

TitleOsmosis in quails egg Aim To observe the effect of different concentrations of sodium chloride on a de-shelled quails egg To explain the effects in terms of osmosis Research Questions Does the different concentrations of sodium chloride on a de-shelled quails egg effect the final mass of quails eggs that is measured by using electronic weighing balance? Introduction If a cell is to perform its functions, it must maintain a steady state in the midst of an ever-changing environment. This constancy is maintained by the regulation of causal agent of materials into and out of the shell. To achieve this control, cells are bounded by a delicate membrane that differentiates between different substances, slowing down the movement of some patch allowing others to pass through. Since not all substances penetrate the membrane equally well, the membrane is said to be differentially permeable. The external and internal environment of cells is an aqueous tooth root of dissolved inorganic and organic molecules.Movement of these molecules, both in the solution and through the cell membrane, involves a physical process called diffusion a impulsive process by which molecules move from a vicinity in which they are highly concentrated to a region in which their concentration is lower. A extra kind of diffusion is the phenomenon of osmosis. Simply defined in biological systems, osmosis is the diffusion of water through a differentially permeable membrane from a region in which it is highly concentrated to a region in which its concentration is lower.

The NCLEX is the state board to license and RN for competency to work as a registered nurse. There are few differences in competencies between associate- degree nurses and baccalaureate degree level nurses including their level of commitment, leadership skills and their musical none of diligent electric charge. develop is an infinite process. either told day, new developments emerge and new deceases and remedies discovered. The overall outlook of health address professions has dramatically changed in the past few decades. Nursing plays a very critical and distinguished part in efficient care and forbearing safety. concords work shoulder to shoulder with physicians in treatment planning and management. Legal and ethical responsibility of the care impartd is also increasingly shared by the Nurses. Nursing profession thus calls for dampen qualified and well groomed nurses.Even though associate degree programs prepare nurses for uncomplaining care in a hospital setting, that tuition is insufficient for a variety of nursing roles. Comparison Point whizz-Associate level nursing was realized after World War 2 during a nursing shortfall. This started at the community colleges students would exhaust to attend for 2 years to obtain your nursing degree. partnership colleges were growing at a fast rate they were able to accept many more students than universities. Associate nurses were taught the skills of nursing to work as an RN. mavin study showed that when reviewed by managers 86% of ADN nurses met or exceeded their expectation. One study shows that nurses with their BSN are shown to be slight(prenominal) task oriented, sport critical thinking skills, are more captain in their role, and show more leadership skills. These nurses look at the patient as a whole and not just a list of things they need to accomplish during their day.ADN program is designed to provide the skills and fellowship to become a compliant generalist nurse. In most cases, it is a 20 month program aimed to provide a reasonably dandy training for the licensure interrogationination (NCLEX-RN) and then an immediate, decent staff position in hospitals and inpatient healthcare young society human being, encompass extensively sophisticate requisites provoking advanced techniques of acquisition directly correlating to health care industry. The health care is intensifying in complexity and observing beneficial amendments. The longevity and expectations break heightened thus nurses are obligate to become educated in higher echelon, the master key baccalaureate level, to comprehensively achieve composite necessities. The professional nurse who receives with a baccalaureate is primed for broader role in numerous portrayt of health care in addition to global knowledge of functionality of medical system and various(a) methods of application.Enabling the application in daily patient care, the delegation of tasks, independent decision making, secure patient discharge, and numerous some new(prenominal) aspects provoking an improvement in quality of care. Research has shown that lower mortality rates, fewer medication errors, and positive outcomes are all linked to nurses prepared at the baccalaureate and graduate degree levels. Education for nurses is life long process either at the bedside or school, nurses are continuously learning to meet the competencies of professional practice and growing demand of subtle care. The difference between the nurse prepared at the associate degree level versus the baccalaureate degree level in nursing is the nurse with baccalaureate degree has the more prestigious degree and training in global aspect of health care Learning in complex systems is, itself, complex. Nonlinear systems make attempts to develop and enforce simple models of cause and effect, and so traditional, hypothetical-deductive methods to explore cause and effect often fail.We know that in the daily life of parenting, marital relationships, and team sports, where continual learning and improvement counterchanges planned experiment as an approach for gaining knowledge. Even where firm, cause-and-effect knowledge exists in science- found health care the knowledge, for example, that antibiotic A will almost always kill bacterium B the application of that knowledge runs straightaway into the messy world of complex systems. That is, reliably getting the antibiotic safely into the body of a patient with that germ turns out to be a constant challenge as systems fail (the order got lost), unpredicted side effects occur (the patient is on an incompatible other drug), local circumstances become highly relevant (the drug is unfamiliar to the new doctor), and errors multiply (the bacteriological report was on the wrong patient). The fact is frustrating and inescapable in health care, as in any complex enterprise, the simple, scientific facts lie unplowed without continual Adaptation to local contexts. The modern n urse who intends to improve the job effectively needs to be a master of the work So what is the difference and how will it affect the course of a career in nursing In todays nursing world, more is expected from a nurse than following doctors orders and starting IVs. The nurse must be able to make critical decisions about a patients care, to examination the doctor if orders seem inappropriate and to help the patient through and through, sometimes, difficult life-changing decisions. These skills take an education that is broad found, one that includes critical thinking and exposure to many different people, thought processes, and culture and societal norms. Two year nursing programs do recognize these needs and address them as they can, requiring liberal arts classes to be interpreted before entering the program and direction decision making skills along the way. At every level of nursing, the ability to connect with different people, recognize the pressures they face from their pers onal environment and find value in each is critical. This is a lot to learn against a backdrop of proficiently per builded procedures and giving the right medication. BSNprograms purport more education aimed at developing these skills. These programs bolster knowledge about community and public health issues. There is also more attention compensable to nursing management, that is, enhancing skills needed to help direct reports do their best work for the patient and the health care organization. Opportunity to refine patient ratement skills and interpret more in depth the pathophysiology of diseases, also sets these rograms apart from their two-year program me Nurses who graduate with a BSN degree will find it easier to enter faculty teaching positions, higher level administrative roles in hospitals or other health care environments and State or Federal level government nursing jobs. And for some, these roles are more satisfying, allowing the individual to affect change at a more global level than one-on-one nursing. While it is true an experienced, talented nurse with an AS degree can move up the ladder into management and leadership roles, the Bachelors degree can make the climb a modest less steep. And, with all this said, there will always be a critical role for the nurse who works directly with the patient, teaching patients about their health care, assuring quality break management in the hospital setting and observing patients for signs of a worsening condition. Nursing is a huge and welcoming field. It offers a satisfying career path for both AS andBSNtrained nurses. Whatever path you have chosen in nursing, the essential wisdom is to continue enhancing your skills and education so that your community, your organization and your patients benefit from your broadened view of the world. ConclusionI know personally from being an RN with my associate degree that I do think differently than other RNs. I find myself worrying a lot about the tasks that I ne ed to finish before my shift ends and not looking at the reasons why I am doing things. I watch other RNs getting why they patient is experiencing these symptoms while I am just following orders and treating the patient. I have seen myself start critically thinking on what my patients need and asking the doctors for different things. You can earn a bachelors degree (BSN) or an associate degree, (ADN). While there are similarities between the two programs, a BSN takes two additional years of college at a university. Both programs teach nursing skills, electives ,science courses, and clinicals. But, the BSN program is a more in-depth study of nursing research, theory, state based practice, management, community, and public health nursing. The baccalaureate program gives the individual the added benefit of having more education. No matter which type of entry into practice program one chooses, the demands placed on nursing in the emerging health care system are likely to require a greater proportion of RNs who are prepared beyond the associate degree or diploma level. (Recreating health p rofessional practice for a new century. , 1998). Even though the BSN has more education, both graduates are held to the uniform standards of practice. ADN and BSN nurses must pass the NCLEX exam. They have the homogeneous patient workload, responsibilities, and the corresponding starting rate of pay. This brings up the often debate, are their competencies any different ? Mildred Montag created the 2 year associate degree after World War II. Several important goals were attained by the AD programs success. It helped train registered nurses to help replace baccalaureate nurses in a shorter time. A new pool of students, including men, married women with children, and older than typical undergraduates, were now able to choose nursing career (Creasia & Friberg, 2011, p. 1). Montag fake these nurses would be assistants to the professional nurses, and since there has been a long debate on whether this degree should continue. The conflict is related to the educational level, leadership, and critical thinking skills of the BSN vs. ADN. Many other countries, Canada, Sweden, Portugal, and the Philippines all require a four year BSN degree for entry level RN. I do believe employers in the United States are mournful towards a BSN for entry level as they did before the ADN was developed. In 1965, the American Nurses Association (ANA) designated the baccalaureate degree as the educational entry point into professional nursing practice(Creasia & Friberg, 1965/2011, p. 4). Most employers have a strong preference for hiring a BSN, as nurses continue to expand their roles and are providing more community based care away from the hospital. Society is also changing and patient needs are becoming more complex as they are living longer, have more chronic unwellness, and technology advancing. These are reasons a BSN is becoming more apparent in our society today.Does having a BSN mean she/he is more efficient over the other ADN ? A BSN is mend prepared to meet all the patients needs. They can better assist with teaching in the communities, can take a leadership position, function as clinical nurse leaders( charge nurse), has more advanced critical thinking skills, familiar with nursing research, cause based practice, and theory. order based practice( EBP), means to back up opinions and practices with facts. Basically, the more we think about what were doing and why the better nurses we will be.We learned the importance of this from Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. She used EBP to improve the conditions of hospitals during the Crimean war. She esteemed the environment, collected data, identified interventions, and monitored patient outcomes. In less than 6 months her interventions significantly decreased the mortality of soldiers. Nightingale utilized supporting evidence to transform healthcare(Cooper, 2011, p. 1) With her information, evidence based practice became used and appreciated. Nurses need to know what proven techniques an d interventions have been found to be most effective. They can only do this by applying evidence based practice, which is better taught at a BSN level. A BSN can continue to expand their role as a RN, using their BSN as a stepping stone towards, nurse practitioner ,nurse midwife, or nurse anesthetist, if they decide to do so. BSN nurses will find it easier to get faculty teaching positions, higher level administrative roles in hospitals and state or federal level government jobs(Forster, 2008, p. 1). In todays world more is expected from a nurse than ever before. Nursing practice is not just starting IVs and following doctors orders. The public expects care to be delivered by a professional nurse. The RN must be able to make critical decisions about a patients care, to question the doctor if orders seem inappropriate and to help the patient through some times life-changing decisions. This takes an education that is broad based, one that includes critical thinking and exposure to many different people, thought processes, and culture and societal norms. (Forster, 2008, p. 1). ADN usually price less and takes less time to complete, but isnt always the best choice if career advancement is wanted. The quality of our patient care is dependent on our education. Both are wonderful paths for anyone pursuing a nursing career and offer splendid pay, job security, and a wide range of work environments and experiences. References References Cooper, C. (2011). San Francisco Author.Educational preparationThere are three main avenues for a person to become a Registered Nurse in the United States. There are diploma programs, associate degree programs (AD), and baccalaureate degree ( electronic bulletin board) programs. Graduates from all three of these programs are eligible to take the alike licensing exam and obtain the same registered nurse license in their respective states. Many people, nurses included, have often wondered what the difference is in the education these nurses have received. Is it all the same? Is an RAN an RAN no matter what his/her education level? The primary dif ference between an AD nurse and a bbs nurse lies within the focus of their nursing education. Recent research indicates that baccalaureate programs focus more on care coordination and community health than do associate programs. One source stated that baccalaureate nursing programs historically provide two to three times more clinical training in outpatient settings than associate programs (Feature 2013).Thus, baccalaureate prepared nurses are better equipped to work in these alternative healthcare settings and to provide care to patients who eave the hospital and move on to these alternative settings. The associate degree (AD) nurse holds the same license as the BBS nurse. However, the focus of the associate program education is quite different. City University of New York faculty fellow, Maureen Wallace, Deed, RAN, stated, Most AD students get an first-class clinical experience but their education has been heavily skills oriented and focused on acute care. (Feature, 2013, p. 3) The associate nurses education is geared more towards inpatient, hospital based care. Unfortunately for he AD nurses, this puts them at somewhat of a disadvantage in the current healthcare climate. According to Dry. Patricia Banner (2009), more than 50% of all nurses now work outside of the hospital setting. So while AD nurses may have fantastic clinical skills for acute care, they may not take critical knowledge needed to educate patients on disease prevention, self-care at planetary house, and utilizing community resources. This apparent knowledge deficit and acute care focused training could significantly impact the way an AD RAN responds to a patient need versus how a BBS RAN might respond. This difference could even negatively impact the patient in the future. This can be demonstrated in the fictitious scenario of Mr.. smith. Mr.. metalworker was admitted to the hospital through the emergency room four days ago with complaints of distasteful abdominal pain and vomiting fecal matter. He was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction secondary to colon genus Cancer and immediately underwent surgery for tumor remotion and bowel resection. He was married with two depleted children. He had lost a significant amount of weight in recent weeks and was extremely weak. Significant differences in the education level between the AD and BBS nurses can be seen in the way each delivered discharge instructions to this patient. Utilizing her skills and acute care knowledge base, Nurse AD, focused her discharge instructions on post pop pain management, surgical site infection prevention, dietary restrictions, activity limitations, and the importance of retentiveness follow up appointments with the surgeon and oncologist. She instructed the patients wife on how to perform the dressing change, and Mrs.. Smith performed a return ministration reluctantly. Mr.. And Mrs.. Smith nodded politely as Nurse AD provided instructions but they did not ask any questions. They both nodded in agreement when she asked if they understood the instructions. Mrs.. Smith signed the discharge instruction form and Nurse AD advised them to let her know when they were ready to leave so she could call for transport downstairs. Mr.. And Mrs.. Smith were very likely completely overwhelmed at this point, having Just received the new diagnosis of cancer.Mr.. Smith was so weak that he could not perform his own Talls. Mrs.. Smith as wondering how in the world she was going to get him out of the car once they got legal residence let alone how she was going to bathe him and change his dressing with two polished children underfoot. This lack of resources, support, and knowledge could put Mr.. Smith at high risk for re-hospitalizing. Since he will not have adequate assistance at home, he is likely to not follow activity restrictions. He may even fall and injure himself due to his weakened condition. Mrs..Smith probably did not retain often of the discharge education and may not be able t o consistently perform an septic dressing change. His surgical tease could become infected. If Nurse BBS completes Mr.. Smiths discharge teaching, the scenario could be more than different. Nurse BBS also drew from her educational background. However, hers was more focused on care coordination, community health and distemper prevention (The impact of education 2014). She began her discharge instructions by assessing the couples level of understanding and coping as well as the resources available to them at home. She asked if Mr.. Smith had a wheelchair for transport from his car to his home. She asked if they had a way to raise the head of his bed or if they had a reclining chair that he could sleep in for repose and ease of movement. Mrs.. Smith responded by replying that she does not have a clue how to operate a wheel chair or where to obtain one and furthermore, she was not sure she was going to be able to take care of him at all. Nurse BBS identified the need for ongoing skil led nursing care and education. She spoke with the surgeon and obtained an order to refer Mr.. Smith to a home health manner. She delayed Mr.. Smiths discharge for several hours until he home health bureau could evaluate him and deliver a wheelchair and hospital bed to his home. Mr.. Smith will now receive nursing care at home to manage his wound and to train Mrs.. Smith on aseptic technique for dressing changes. He will also receive education on all aspects of his newly diagnosed cancer and physical therapy to address his weakness and prevent falls. In this scenario, Mr.. Smith is much less likely to return to the hospital because of the nursing education and in home care he received (Beanbags and Terrain 2000).His wound will likely heal very icily and he will be better prepared to wield with his disease and recovery because he will have received ample education from his home health nurse. He will probably feel less fearful at home because he will still have access to a nurse whe n he has a need or a question. In both scenarios, the nurses held the same license. They both performed their Job duties well. They both had the patients best interest at heart. They both utilized the nursing process and interventions to assist the patient during his time of crisis. However, Nurse Abss interventions were better suited to meet the tangents needs. Because her nursing education was more focused on community health and outpatient settings, she was better able to assess the patient holistically and address his immediate and long term needs. Mr.. Smith is much less likely to be re-hospitalized and much more likely to have a good outcome because of Nurse BBS.Educational preparationThere are three main avenues for a person to become a Registered Nurse in the United States. Mrs..Smith probably did not retain much of the discharge education and may not be able to consistently perform an septic dressing change. His surgical wound could become infected. If Nurse BBS completes Mr.. Smiths discharge teaching, the scenario could be much different. Nurse BBS also drew from her educational background. However, hers was more focused on care coordination, community health and illness prevention (The impact of education 2014). She began her discharge instructions by assessing the couples level of understanding and coping as well as the resources available to them at home. She asked if Mr.. Smith had a wheelchair for transport from his car to his home. She asked if they had a way to raise the head of his bed or if they had a reclining chair that he could sleep in for powderpuff and ease of movement. Mrs.. Smith responded by replying that she does not have a clue how to operate a wheel chair or where to obtain one and furthermore, she was not sure she was going to be able to take care of him at all. Nurse BBS identified the need for ongoing skilled nursing care and education. She spoke with the surgeon and obtained an order to refer Mr.. Smith to a home health agency. She delayed Mr.. Smiths discharge for several hours until he home health agency could evaluate him and deliver a wheelchair and hospital bed to his home. Mr.. Smith will now receive nursing care at home to manage his wound and to train Mrs.. Smith on aseptic technique for dressing changes. He will also receive education on all aspects of his newly diagnosed cancer and physical therapy to address his weakness and prevent falls. In this scenario, Mr.. Smith is much less likely to return to the hospital because of the nursing education and in home care he received (Beanbags and Terrain 2000).His wound will likely heal very icily and he will be better prepared to dispen se with his disease and recovery because he will have received ample education from his home health nurse. He will probably feel less fearful at home because he will still have access to a nurse when he has a need or a question. Mr.. Smith is much less likely to be re-hospitalized and much more likely to have a good outcome because of Nurse BBS.

This is because B2B consumers are more investigative and seek more information from different channel and sources. B2C sites also try to create relationships with customers to enhance the brand loyalty of consumers and ensure that their queries are answered.Though, this is more voiceless and companies need to ensure that this process does not adversely harm the operations of the company. B2C sites simultaneously also use offline methods along with online advertising. Online tools can include interactive websites, online communities and discussion forums, email marketing, pop-ups, cost per click advertising much(prenominal) as Google AdWords etc. However, the challenge for any company lies in finding the right mix of advertising and promotion which maximizes profits and minimizes costs. However, good B2C sites allows the consumers to shop faster a nd in a more convenient manner, offerings and prices obtained are in real-time and can be changed as required and call centres are usually incorporated along with the websites allowing interaction between the companies and the end-users. Conclusion Research shows that more than actual purchase, consumers are using the internet more for research about the product and to make a more informed purchase decision, which is truer for the business consumers. Thus, the company should realize that not all visitors may purchase from their site however most of them willing be researching the companys products and the information available will be a significant factor in the final decision. This is true to a lesser extent for consumers, because individuals tend to display customer loyalty, thus they may research more to confirm their original decision rather than look at competitions information. Also, in B2C more emphasis is on price comparisons as customers usually go online shop to obtain the best price possible. This is also lower than the price in offline stores in some cases as it saves the cost of the intermediary or any dealer involved. In B2B, competition on a global basis ensures that the companies no longer can ignore online marketing and it is necessary to keep up with the competition. Initiatives much(prenominal) as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and just in time inventory are changing the way business is being done. This combined with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) ensures that the way companies do business with other businesses has changed and they need to use innovative ways to make their presence felt online. Compare and contrast Ralph and Jack as leaders Essay

Ralph and knucklebones signify different themes and ideas throughout The Lord of the Flies. They both entertain different personalities merely in round aspects they are similar. For example, they both want to be leaders, but they want to lead in different delegacys. The ii boys are from typical English public schools so their background is similar yet their personalities contrast. Ralph is calm and upright he represents order, leadership and civilisation. On the other hand Jack is very authoritative and represents unbridled atrocity and desire for power. As the book progresses we see these traits becoming even stronger in Jack, as if he were a dictator handle Hitler from the Second World War, which was when the Lord of the Flies was set. When Ralph first finds himself stranded on the island, it is as if he couldnt care less as to how he got there. The fact that he has just survived a plane crash, in which many adults hand over died in, does non seem to bother him at all. The first function he does is rip slay all his clothes and swim in the lagoon. This is quite childish demeanor and the fact that he is ripping off all his clothes shows that he is already baffleing to assert away from civilisation. It is not until loutish finds him and starts asking intellectual questions as to how they got there and whether there is anyone else on the island that he starts to vaguely consider the role.As the book progresses Jack step forwards with his choir. It is obvious that he is in control, he shouted an order and they halted. This shows he is an authoritative figure and the impression is given that he is controlling an army. Even though the two boys present not met, it is immediately clear that there are differences between them. Ralph is calmer and quite smart to take everything in his stride, whereas Jack remains in his choir uniform and still acts with a mountainous sense of responsibility despite the fact he is hundreds of miles away from civil isation.Ralph is democratic and more thoughtful. For example, before anything happens roughly creation rescued he says we ought to substantiate a chief to decide things. Jack shows his arrogance emerges when he replies, I ought to be chief, as if he was a dictator without any care for other peoples opinions. In reply Ralph uses his democratic approach and decides, Lets carry a vote. Ralphs decision to have a vote shows how fair he is and his approach to buy the farm a leader is democratic. On the other hand, it is clear that Jack is very self-centred and is prepared to refer for the position of leader even if it happens in a manner not popular with the other boys. The situation of the Second World War is being reflected in the two boys contrasting personalities. As the time that is washed-out on the island advances, Jacks savage traits start to emerge. For example, when he goes t winduping he lets the boys go off swimming whilst he continues. Unfortunately he catches nothing and goes back to camp. He describes the situation to Ralph, I went on. I thought, by myself the madness came into his eyes again I thought I might kill. Jacks veritable traits are starting to emerge. His savage instinct is starting to render apparent he is described as having madness in his eyes. He is starting to have a compulsion to hunt and kill that was not apparent before because society and civilisation keeps people in control but when they are set free from this their natural or basic instincts start to emerge. However this is not true of everyone, Ralph has continued to remain calm and civilised, building huts on the land with Piggy, his advisor. His natural instincts are not savage but to try to find a means of remaining safe and being rescued. end-to-end the book Ralph relies on Piggy to help him with many decisions. The idea to blow the conch so that other boys would emerge from the island was Piggys idea as well as the idea to use his glasses to start the notify on the mountain. Piggys pragmatic and intellectual approach to the situation they are in helps Ralph yet sometimes the boys do not listen to him, especially Jack. Jack has a very imposing approach and feels he can make the correct decisions himself. His decline into savagery becomes apparent due to this and results in him punching Piggy and eventually killing him. For example after Piggy notices there is no smoke he tells Ralph but there is not much they can do, as the boys who were supposed to be watching the fire had gone hunting. Soon enough they notice a large group of figures coming down the beach chanting, Kill the pig, Cut her throat. Spill her blood. Jack is part of this group and it is apparent that the other boys have also acquired a lust for killing and hunting. However, Piggy drives Jack to force play by saying, You didnt ought to have let that fire out, you said youd keep the smoke going. After this Jack hits Piggy Jack has lost the self control that was in place before he was held back from violence due to the moral trappings of society.Later on in the book, Jacks leadership starts to become more appealing to the boys. The lifestyle he is offering them with meat and protection from the beast is compelling for them in some aspects, To-night were having a feast. Weve killed a pig and weve got meat. You can come and eat with us if you like. Eventually all the boys start to switch to Jack as their leader. The boys have lost sight of what being civilise means and just want to follow a leader who offers a simple way of life hunting, food and safety in the tribe. Ralph starts to give up hope, So we cant have a signal fire Were beaten. The two boys contrasting opinions and aims are in contest and at the beginning of the book when society and civilisation was still in the minds of many of the boys they were prepared to have Ralph as their leader. However, as time has passed and their sense of civilisation has gradually disappeared the longer they are away from it, they have resorted to Jack for fun and a preferred lifestyle. In some aspects Ralph and Jack are alike as leaders because they both want to get their own way. However their aims are different, Jack wants to hunt and Ralph wants to be rescued. Jack is the autocratic, less caring leader whereas Ralph is democratic and tries to do what is best for all the boys. In the end it turns out that the boys would prefer to be led by Jack. Golding is suggesting that it doesnt matter who you are, even if you are from a privileged public school background, without the influences of society we exit decline into savagery and our true natural instincts will emerge.
